John Brack's Wise Men Quartett
wurde ganz spontan
während den Aufnahmen von I Shall Wear A Crown für
das letztjährige Gospelprojekt von John Brack "Let's
Have Church" gegründet. John lud Bill Britt,
der frühere Bariton Sänger der Cumberland Boys und
Jim Worthing, den ehemaligen Tenor ein, mit ihm diesen
Song einzusingen. Sowohl die Cumberland Boys wie auch Bill Britt
haben für John Brack bereits früher CDs eingespielt
und so war es sehr natürlich, mit den beiden Künstlern
zu singen. Nachdem sie sich das Endprodukt angehört hatten, waren sie sich einig, dass noch eine Basstimme fehlte, damit das Lied ein richtiger Quartett Song wäre. Jim telefonierte seinem Freund Hovie Walker und der liess sich nicht lange bitten. Zusammen sind sie sicherlich eines der feinsten Quartette, die in den letzten Jahren zusammengefunden haben. Sie haben sich dem Southern Gospel "Quartetstyle" verschrieben und John Brack als Produzent würzte das Ganze mit seinem Gospel Feeling. Es ist das erste Mal in der Geschichte des Southern Gospel, dass ein Leadsänger aus der Schweiz kommt und auch noch als Produzent fungiert. Die Lieder wurden mit John's langjährigem Bandleader Ron Oates, Mitglied der Nashville Hall of Fame eingespielt und die besten Studiomusiker, wie Gary Prim, Keyboards, Ron Oates, Grand Piano, Bill Hullett, Guitars, Gregg Galbraith, Guitars, Tomy Well, Drums, Jerry Kroon, Drums, Bob Wray, Bass, Mike Douchette, Harp um nur einige zu nennen, gaben den Liedern die musikalische Würze. Capitol Records, Savannah, Georgia, USA, veröffentlichte sofort eine Single in den USA und die Reaktionen waren fantastisch. Als neuen Bassänger stiess Todd Murray zu den weisen Männern und mit ihm geht das Quartett diese Weihnachten auf Tournee. Das neue Album "John Brack's Wise Men Quartet" wird offiziell am 18. Oktober veröffentlicht und von K-tel (INTERNATIONAL) Switzerland vertrieben. Auch der christliche Verleger ERF veröffentlicht das Album in Deutschland und der Schweiz. |

John Brack's Wise Men Quartet was formed spontaneous while recording I Shall Wear A Crown for last years gospelproject of John Brack "Let's Have Church" at the Hilltop Recording Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. John invited Bill Britt, a former member of The Cumberland Boys, who has recorded and worked with John for many years on various projects and Jim Worthing, who has also been with The Cumberland Boys where John got to know him, to the studio. The Cumberland Boys did an album for John Brack Productions, Bill Britt did his solo projects for the same company and so it was a natural thing for John to ask Bill and Jim to sing with him. After hearing the final recording they all agreed, it would have been great to have a bass singer and make it a quartet song. Jim called his longtime friend Hovie Walker and within no time Hovie laid the bass voice down. Together they are truly one of the finest quartets that came along in many years. Committed to the tradition of Quartet style singing, John, as producer, added todays musical flair and his way of feeling the Gospel. It's the first time, a Southern Gospel Quartet has a Leadsinger from Switzerland, who also produced the song. The song was recorded under the leadership of Nashville Hall of fame member Ron Oates and highclass musicians Gary Prim, Keyboards, Ron Oates, Grand Piano, Bill Hullett, Guitars, Gregg Galbraith, Guitars, Tomy Well, Drums, Jerry Kroon, Drums, Bob Wray, Bass, Mike Douchette, Harp to name but a few. Capitol Records, based in
Savannah, GA, has picked up the single and released it to all
the christian stations in the USA. The reactions were fantastic.
